Brian's
a 21 year old UCF student who lives in Orlando. Brian says he doesn't
play competitive golf anymore but he should because he's got a heck
of a repeating stroke as you can see from the video. He's also not
afraid of a few blisters...

BOOMERANG MATCHPLAY |
OBJECTIVE:
Trap
the first ball in the target, use the second ball to release it. Do
it in fewer putts than your opponent - and WIN!
|
| RULES: |
| |
1.
|
Players
should compete in a best of 3 or 5 round competition. |
|
| |
2.
|
Determine
who putts first either by handicap or by coin toss. |
| |
3.
|
The
player who traps and releases the ball in the fewest putts wins. |
| |
4.
|
If
a tie, competitors will play a sudden death round to find a winner. |
| |
5.
|
Ensure
the Boomerang is set-up the same for all players. |
| |
6.
|
All players must putt from the same distance. |
| |
7.
|
If
you exceed 10 putts you loose your turn with a score of 10+. |
| |
8.
|
The
penalty for getting both balls trapped in the target is to clear the
target of both balls before counting recommences. |

BOOMERANG AVERAGE |
"In
golf like life, you're not going to get where you want to go
if you're not prepared to do the work - and you can quote me
on that. But at least the Boomerang can make that work fun".
Nathan
Wolfe |
|
OBJECTIVE:
The idea is to hit 100 putts and count the number times you trap and
release a ball in the Boomerang's target. Catching and releasing a
ball has a value of one. Your Boomerang Average (BA) is the number
of putts it takes for you to catch and release a ball in the target
averaged over 100 putts. You should putt from a minimum of 2m from
where the Boomerang touches the mat and you must have the Boomerang
on the 4th highest height setting. Dial in the optimum target depth
and get putting.

To
keep score divide a sheet of paper in two columns, write Putts
on the left and C&Rs on the right. When you hit a putt
you record a "I" in the left column when you get a catch
and release you record it on the right and the left also.

You
are the big dog. You have your acceleration and synchronization
down to a fine art. You are so confident in what you're
doing and can predict so accurately how a ball will behave
that I don't really know what else to teach you - except
how to manage it and possibly how to program the old gray
matter a bit better. You're the king of BoomTech and providing
you manage it well, you're a tournament winner.

You
know how to control that ball pretty good. Surface speed
isn't really an issue for you, nor are the conditions. For
you putting is about seeing a line and knowing how to hit
that line at the right pace. There isn't much more than
that, unless you want to go really low. If you're happy
cruising along with your efficient stroke that's great.
But if you'd like to take it to the next level e-mail me
about taking the final step.

You're
someone who's pretty handy with the flat stick. Makes his
share but has days where you just wonder what the hell
am I doing? For you it's all about consistency and
that means a trip back to Q-school I'm afraid. Get the basics
perfect and you'll easily leap this hurdle in your stride.

You're
the guy that has so much misinformation about the putting
stroke swimming around in his head you don't know which
end of the putter to use. You get lucky from time to time
when two flaws cancel each other out but most of the time
you're just trying to make sense of it all. Get hold of
the Beat the Boomerang DVD
- it will give you the tips to drop you into the threes
in no time.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you're at the
bottom of the pile in terms of your skill with a putter.
What you should do is concentrate on the basics - eyes,
hands and ball. When you get those three things where they
should be and can do it with your eyes closed you'll notice
a huge drop in your BA.
