Set-up Instructions:
Release a golf ball in the Boomerang's target to select a level
putting surface. You can tell a surface is level when a ball
comes to rest at precisely 6 o'clock on an imaginary clock face
(fig 1).
If
the ball does not rest in the centre it's possible you've selected
an uneven surface. While you can compensate for a slight break
it's much more preferable to find a better place to practice.
When
the Boomerang is set up correctly any putt that curves off line
is attributable to the stroke and nothing else so please take
the time to do it correctly.
Now
turn the Boomerang over and adjust the height setting so the
ball rolls your desired distance (fig 2) - this can be
up to 15ft on a surface speed which stimps at 11.5 or more.
Adjust
the target depth to suit the height setting you have just selected.
To do this begin with the target area raised level with the
green surface then wind it down a quarter turn at a time (fig
3).
When
a ball released from about an inch into the target catches (fig
4), but any further releases the ball then you have the optimum
target depth ensuring a perfect lag putt will catch and a good
matchplay putt can easily knock it out.
The Boomerang is now set up to provide quality feedback, so please
begin your practice session and enjoy!
If you find it difficult to trap the ball in the target don't
be tempted to make the target deeper. The rule is that the easier
it is to catch a ball, the harder it will be to release it.
If you make the target deeper chances are you'll only frustrate
yourself trying to release the first ball.
